Does TINZ have a large database from which we can source information?
TINZ has New Zealand’s largest tenancy database with hundreds of thousands of records which are constantly being enhanced and updated. We use our own database plus over 20 external database sources including:
- Tenancy information NZ tenant ratings, Tenancy Tribunal orders, 14 day notices, verbal/physical abuse, drug abuse warnings, dangerous dog warnings and photos from other members
- Ministry of Justice Tenancy Tribunal orders
- illion (formerly Dun & Bradstreet) credict checks
- The C.I.A Debt Recovery Group Ltd
- LTNZ Driver’s License verifications
- Home ownership records
- Personal Property & Securities Register
- Bing, Google, Social Media, Court Judgements, News websites, Companies Office, Police 10/7, Sensible Sentencing Trust, Interpol etc
Is TINZ expensive?
No - In fact we often pay you! It’s far easier to decline a tenant before they move in than evict them when it goes wrong so it’s worth this investment. Click here for our rates
for combined tenancy & enquiry database credit checks. We also pay property managers to load information about tenants. We will provide a $4 credit for any tenant “lodgements”. That is, we’ll pay property managers to lodge tenant ratings, tenancy tribunal orders and 14 day notices online
Does TINZ have tenancy forms?
Yes. All the relevant tenancy forms for landlords are available to TINZ customers once you log in to our website. For online company Tenancy Applications and Tenancy Agreement forms we partner with Tenancy Tracker by Trademe.
Do I need two credit checks?
Competitors may offer the choice of two credit check companies. We believe yiou only need one comprehensive credit check company. We use illion (formerly known as Dun & Bradstreet). Dun & Bradstreet has been one of Australia and New Zealand’s leading sources of commercial information and insight for 130 years. Unlike competitors TINZ has built a peer to peer sharing database by paying property managers for tenancy information. This is constantly being added to and updated.
Do you only offer Tenant Checking?
No, TINZ has NZ's largest tenancy database and provide comprehensive Tenant Checking but we also provide all the necessary tenancy forms and can provide debt collection services
Who owns TINZ?
TINZ is 100% owned by illion (formerly Dun & Bradstreet). Dun & Bradstreet has been one of Australia and New Zealand’s leading sources of commercial information and insight for 130 years. Now backed by our extensive commercial and consumer bureau, we began a new chapter as illion.
